Why Your Health IQ Exists

Why Your Health IQ Exists

Health information has never been more accessible, yet understanding it has become increasingly difficult. Conflicting advice, social media, sensational headlines and complex medical terminology can make it hard to know what to trust.

Your Health IQ was created to cut through the noise by providing clear, balanced and practical health education grounded in current medical evidence. Our aim is to help people build the knowledge and confidence to take a more active role in their health.

Meet Dr Mark Spearpoint

Your Health IQ was founded by Dr Mark Spearpoint, an Australian General Practitioner who graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2003.

Over the past two decades, Dr Spearpoint has worked in a wide range of clinical settings across Australia, including general practice, the Australian Army, occupational medicine, medical leadership and medical education.

Throughout his career, he has seen how difficult it can be for people to find reliable, easy-to-understand health information. Your Health IQ was created to bridge that gap by translating complex medical concepts into practical knowledge that empowers people to make informed decisions about their health.

Our Commitment

Every article and learning pathway is developed with a commitment to accuracy, balance and clarity. We draw on current clinical guidelines and the best available medical evidence, explain where uncertainty exists, and regularly review our content as new evidence emerges.

Your Health IQ is designed to support—not replace—the relationship between you and your healthcare professionals.
